Our Family's History

My photo
Our family started on November 1, 2003 when Doug and Lauri got married. We added to our family on August 7, 2005 with the arrival of Ronnie. We live in Shakopee, MN and enjoy going to the gym, the movies, karate, and Papa's (and Nana's) cabin in McGregor on weeekends.

Karate - Red Belt Test

On June 6th, Ronnie tested for his red belt in the Karate Kubs.  It was just Ronnie and his karate buddy, Andreas testing that night....  The routine was the Perseverance Form, and it was VERY difficult (lots of half-turns, full turns, double kicks, jump kicks, etc.).  Ronnie was testing for his red belt  which is the highest level in the karate kubs.  They had to do their form, spar, and break a board with their palm and with their heel.  Ronnie did GREAT!!  After talking with Master Youngman, it was decided that he would design a black belt program for the Kubs - with Ronnie being the first person to go through it.  Once he gets a little older, he will move up to the Juniors level at the camouflage belt.

Hip Hop - the Recital

Maama came to Minnesota just to see Ronnie perform in his hip hop dance recital.  They had fun playing Zurg, going to the park, and playing American Ninja Warrior.

Tubing at the Cabin in May

Ronnie surprised all of us when he said he wanted to go tubing by himself - in May - when it was only 60 degrees out.  Eric Kemp was a good sport and got the jet ski out to take Ronnie for a spin on their big tube.  Unfortunately, the jet ski didn't start up, so we hopped in the boat....  Ronnie had a GREAT time - and didn't complain at all about how cold it was.

Ronnie lounging on the tube - waiting to get going.....

"Hit it!!!"

We hit a wave - and Ronnie bounced and then laughed HARD!

Having a blast!!!
