Our Family's History

My photo
Our family started on November 1, 2003 when Doug and Lauri got married. We added to our family on August 7, 2005 with the arrival of Ronnie. We live in Shakopee, MN and enjoy going to the gym, the movies, karate, and Papa's (and Nana's) cabin in McGregor on weeekends.

Ice Fishing at Papa's Cabin

For those of you who are not aware - the movie "Grumpy Old Men" is not a fictional story. The men in Minnesota truly do drive out on to the frozen lakes, drill holes, and fish - all from the comfort of their heated ice shacks (heated - on the ice... hmmmmm....)

When we go to Papa's cabin in the winter, one of the few outdoor activities the boys can do is ice fishing. Here are some photos of Ronnie out on the ice in February.

Checking our the the scooper the fishermen use to scoop the rapidly developing ice from the hole they just drilled....

Rather than fish - Ronnie chooses to get the Super Soaker from the garage. He would stick it in the fishing hole and suck up the water.

Then, he would shoot the water across the frozen lake. Doug was so proud.
